We are just getting started. At the Lay Synod sponsored by CAN (Catholic Action Network) there was general agreement on the need for a news resource for local progressive Catholics. A small group of enthusiasts began to meet, and a plan was formed. We decided to begin with this blog.
It seems a propitious time to launch the blog, as we bid farewell to Sister Louise Lears. Many are saddened, some are outraged... but few local Catholics are without some emotional involvement with the case. To those who love Louise, we offer sympathy. To those who say, 'Good riddance!' we wish you had met this holy woman.
So, we dedicate our first edition to Sister Louise Lears, SC
