There is an alternative Catholic presence in St. Louis thankfully. After a week-long retreat of pastoral ministers from all over the US this week at Eden, the Ecumenical Catholic Communion will be ordaining three women and one man to the order of deacon. Bishop Peter Hickman will ordain the four, including Kay Schmitt of St. Louis and Tom Altepeter, formerly of St. Louis. Everyone in invited to taste another way of being Catholic. Please come to the main chapel in Press Hall at Eden Seminary for the ordination starting at 6:30 PM, Friday, October 24th, A reception will follow. All--we really mean it--are welcome.
