St. Louis Catholics are being directed by the Bishop to vote Republican.
Election after election, the GOP drags out their abortion trick, and it always works. Then after the polls close, this political treasure is tucked away safe to be used in the next big contest.
When the Republicans were in charge... White House, Senate, House of Representatives, and the Supreme Court, not a peep was heard about abortion. To reverse Roe v Wade or try for a Constitutional Amendment would mean throwing away their 'Catholic Clincher'.
There are half a dozed ways to expose the stupidity and blatant hypocrisy of this one-issue lock step voting, but you'll never hear it from the pulpit. Tut-tut...that would be mixing politics and religion.
Well, I'll mix them. Jesus didn't mention abortion as far as we know, but He had LOTS to say about Social Justice!
Vote Obama.

Your "vote Obama" advice betrays the fact that you may "local" and in some sense a "reporter", but you are definitely not Catholic.
You think the Republicans are only payng lip service to pro-life issues? Fine. I think you can make a case not to vote for McCain.
But you cannot make a Catholic case to vote for someone who would remove all restrictions on abortion (FOCA, which Obama supports), who has voted to allow born babies to die of exposure after botched abortions (which he did in the Illinois Senate), and who is in all other ways in full support of the genocide of 1.5 million little babies every year.
Wake up. Your glee for socialist engineering blinds you to what your conscience ought to tell you (and your shepherds are reminding you) is a deal breaker.
Catholic? Hardly.
Jesus' CHURCH mentioned abortion even before the last book of the New Testament had been written:
"...You shall not murder. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not seduce boys. You shall not commit fornication. You shall not steal. You shall not practice magic. You shall not use potions. YOU SHALL NOT PROCURE ABORTION, NOR DESTROY A NEW-BORN CHILD. ... " [Didache, ca 80-90 AD]
Please don't *dare* try to make it sound like Jesus might think abortion is somehow "okay" just because He doesn't comment on it in the Gospels!
